Esplanade Drawer Nightstand

Part of the Esplanade Collection, a relaxed traditional style for the bedroom. The marriage of traditional lines, a casual finish and contemporary hardware makes this bedroom collection at home in any decorating scheme. This type of design flexibility is a hallmark of the "new traditional" movement. European design elements like proud, finely reeded pilasters, crisp under-top moldings and squared off, tapered legs bring tailored architecture to the room.

Our artisan finish system begins with carefully selecting cathedral and guartered white oak. Prior to finishing, each piece is hand wire brushed to gently open the wood grain for a natural, relaxed feel. From there we carefully apply a series of glazes and stains to fully dress each piece. The result is a dry, British Khaki color tone with light water spotting for a naturally casual feel. We elected to go a bit off script when we chose to marry a tumbled, art deco inspired bar pull with a European inspired case form. This is the essence of "New Traditional" - bringing unexpected character to something familiar. Note the subtle stepped off layers that add detail from every angle of this special design element. The tumbled texture brings visual interest to each piece like chisel marks in a fine sculpture.

Each case in this collection is constructed in a "sealed case" method. Back panels are attached to the case frame using slotted, French dovetail joinery. No staples or nails are used in the installation of the back panel. Solid wood framed dust protection panels are built into the case skeleton between each drawer. These features not only protect contents, but they also contribute to the overall stability of the case. Back panels are constructed of ¾" thick plywood.

The significant weight of which helps provide a counterbalance to the front of the case when drawers are extended. Drawer boxes are built using a 5-piece method with English dovetails on the fronts and backs.
Drawer interiors are stained with a pleasing match to the outside of the case. Our drawer guide system features 60 steel ball bearings per drawer and is tested to support 100 lbs.
